Social Networking – It Works!

Published by Rob Sevilla on April 27th, 2012 - in Advertising - Social Networking

I recently was given advice by a friend that I should really start capitalizing on and building up my social networking. You see other then my personal Facebook page I had not really done anything as far as the social network scene went. Well let me tell you I was missing the boat big time. Over the last sixty days I have worked really hard to promote myself in the big six social networks. It has made a big difference in traffic and following, and of course my sales. You see most of the world communicates through social networking. It really changed the face of the Internet in the last decade. The social networks were a supped up versions of Internet forums, which had actually been around since the late 1990’s. However they were very boring, just a real basic description of yourself. And no pictures or videos. So when sites like Facebook and Myspace came along it took the Internet by storm.

The really great benefit of it was for the Internet marketer. It was a free way for you to advertise almost anything to people who would have normally never found you, or even known about you. It also added a great aspect to the whole online marketing experience. You could build up respect and creditability on a huge volume. Lets face it when you see someone’s social network site and it has thirty two thousand thumbs up, you start to take notice and think, well if all these people think this site is so good, maybe I better check it out and follow it more closely. Nowadays a lot of people, millions, only log into their social network and nowhere else. So it is extremely wise to get yourself and website connected to as many social networks as you can. When these sites become popular with more and more followers, their PR ranking goes up and then so does your blog. It’s a free trickle down effect that can be very handy.

So to get started, earlier I mentioned the big six, this is Facebook, Stumpleupon, Digg, Twitter, Linkedin, and Yotube. Make it a priority to get established and build up followings in these social arenas, trust me it can only help your chances of making money and becoming the Internet guru you dream of becoming. Make sure when setting up your personal profiles that you use a picture of yourself, and add all the links you can. Interconnect all of the social sites with each other. Also when updating your social sites, do not just be all business, show people that you are human and get involved in a few conversations, join groups and add some funny jokes. It makes you seem more approachable if people want to ask you about your products.

Social networking is absolutely paramount if you want to have any hope of success these days on the internet. You need to build up that level of trust and those followers in order to make thousands every month and eventually every week. Not everybody might find your affiliate site or blog when surfing the net. Some people simply live in their social network and that is all they do. However, we should not discount them from being potential customers. That is why you should start with the biggest social network around, Facebook. Now first of all your going to need to obviously open an account, then start adding friends. But do not just add anybody, join groups that have similar interests in what your selling and send friend requests through there.

The after you have a few hundred people in your friends list, start a fanpage. They are real easy. Put a good description with the right keywords and of course your affiliate or product link as well. Also find somebody to create a “welcome” page, this will be the page your future friends will see when they first land on your fanpage. On here you want to put your best add, maybe even have an email capture box. It can be another great way to build up your sales list. Now this fanpage will be devoted strictly to your specific product and things dealing with this product only. Keep your main account for fun or personal stuff. The fanpage makes it possible for people who live on Facebook to find out about your product, and it is free advertising to their 500 million and growing accounts.

Now if you are running a blog connect the two. When you make blog posts, make sure the post also go to your wall section on your fanpage. This will open the eyes of people who are stuck in the world of Facebook to your great blog and possibly other products that you might be offering. Trust me guys this is social marketing 101 and one of the easiest thing in the world to do. Plus it is free advertising, now you can not beat that. Eventually when you start getting enough friends on your Facebook fanpage you will get contacted by other advertisers asking if they can place an ad on your page. Make sure you get payment up front of course.

Social Networking

Some of you guys may be familiar with social networking, or better known as web 2.0, and some of you may not ,or just do not think it is that important. Well let me tell you something. Developing a good social network can increase your Goggle page ranking by several levels and bring in hundreds to thousands of more potential targeted leads to what ever it is you are selling. I’m currently in the process of building up my network and working on getting a large group of followers on what I call the “Big 6.” Facebook, Digg, Stmbleupon, Youtube, Twitter and Linkedin. It is absolutely paramount that you put together proper profiles with recent pictures and links back to your sites. Also make sure that you update these network pages every week as they are monitored by the people who follow you.

If someone sees you have not placed any new content in months, or only have a hundred people following you then they are going to make the immediate determination that you are not worth their time at all. This is Internet marketing 101 guys, and you must do it. First of, start a blog that connects to the Big 6, then get plugins that connect all of your posts to the social network, so that every time you post, it gets sent out across the network. This will do two things, it will increase your backlinks and also the amount of people who might be interested in your products. Now here is where people get stuck all the time. Do not just be business all the time. Remember it is a social network not a board meeting. You must “talk” in the various web sites and get involved in personal conversations from time to time. Place funny pictures or talk about a great vacation you had with your kids. Funny enough people are interested in this stuff.

It allows people to see just what type of person you are. If your kind, or funny, smart, outgoing, whatever. We live in a day and age know that just throwing up a website and sending traffic to it is no longer going to cut it. The public wants, in fact demands to know who the person is that is selling this product they might want to buy. Now do not worry your life does not have to be an open book, just get personal enough so they see you are real person with actual knowledge of what you are talking about. Good social networking can increase sales by a huge amount. It just depends on how much work you are willing to put into socializing. If this is all new to you then start of slow with a Facebook account and Youtube, then build out from there. Make sure you put a picture of yourself, on all your profiles and a description of your interests and why you are qualified to sell of give advice on your particular affiliate niche. Get to know your followers and they will reward you with high conversion rates!

3 Facebook Advertising Tips You Should Always Use

Published by Rob Sevilla on December 28th, 2011 - in Advertising - Social Networking

As a result of a good advertising system, Facebook is a leader of the world’s social networks. If you desire to use this advertising method, then you must remember the things that we talk about in this article. One of the simple tips that new Facebook advertisers ignore is to separate ads by gender. This is necessary because men and women usually click on various types of ads. So if you really want to improve your ad is effectiveness, you should ensure that you don’t ignore this step. You will also find out that not only is the response not the same, but neither is the cost of the ad. For example, if you are advertising a weight loss eBook that has 2 versions, one for men and the other for women. In this case, you can easily separate by gender and see targeted results.

When you apply this one simple feature, you can tap into 2 differing groups effectively, without agonizing too much about the possible response. Also, you can differentiate your traffic by age too. The best plan for doing this is to create age groups with gaps of 5 years. However, do not think that you have to limit yourself to just groups with 5 year gaps. This one feature has tons of potential in relation to testing. You would have the capability to test the type of response you are getting from particular age groups and then direct your ads based upon that. As time continues you will recognize that these responses start to get predictable, which makes your job simpler. This is when you would be able to promote to people of different ages with products that were created just for them. You will want to market your fanpage, so direct people to the custom tab and *not* your wall.

This all has to do with control and conversions, and you do not control what is on your wall. Right? You know it. As you know, the custom tab is not the wall, and then you can have whatever copy or content necessary for your marketing needs. When anyone sees your wall for the first time, they’ll see comments left by other people. Conversion rates are higher when they land on your custom tab; much lower when landing on your wall. So always have your targeted traffic flowing in your page’s custom tab rather than the main wall. In conclusion, like any other advertising system, even Facebook is evolving. But the greatest point right now is that it is still in the developing stages so it still has a lot of great potential.
