Best Affiliate PorgramsFinding the best affiliate programs online can be a very difficult task.  Many of them claim to pay good commissions, and boast of their product or service, but unfortunately  a lot of them fall short of living up to their promises.  I believe it’s important to note, that having a foundation in internet marketing is essential before promoting any top affiliate program.  You may have stumbled upon a great affiliate program, only to find out that you have no idea how to promote it.  Not being trained in internet marketing can seriously handicap you from generating any commissions at all.  This is why many people start off excited about affiliate marketing, but within 90 days or less have given up.

Best Affiliate Programs Criteria:

1. Good Product/Service – Any program that claims to be the best affiliate program must have a viable product or service.  Having a top affiliate marketing product or service is paramount to your whole marketing system.  If you are promoting something that doesn’t have value or that is not relevant, then you are going to have a hard time generating affiliate commissions.  Make sure to thoroughly research the niche affiliate market you are planning to promote, and know for sure that it’s a viable arena. If you already operate a website, then you definitely only want to promote products that are relevant to what your current niche.

2. Commissions – Most affiliate companies pay you a small commission for promoting their products or services.  Look for companies that pay a higher commission, but also have a highly rated product or service.  You don’t want to promote an affiliate company that is only going to pay you peanuts for all your hard work.   It takes time to do the necessary research to find the best affiliate programs, but it’ll all pay off in the end.

3. Over Saturation – If you try to promote a product that is over-saturated, then you’re shooting yourself in the foot.  Once again, this is why doing keyword research is important.  Taking the time to research keywords that relate to your affiliate program will help set a solid platform for success.  You also want to promote products or services that are HOT!  Look for the trends, see what the experts are promoting.  Some months “information affiliate products” are sizzling, while other months it may be “health and wellness.”  This is why I keep stressing the point of doing keyword research.  All the experts have thoroughly researched their niche markets, and that’s why they are generation top affiliate commissions.

Optimized Posts – Keyword research is vital if you are wanting to achieve a high Alexa ranking and generate lots of organic traffic.  Ultimately the more ranking, traffic, and visitors, the higher your Alexa Ranking.   You can use tools like the google keyword tool, or market samurai to find keywords.  SEO is very important when it comes to ranking high in the search engines.

Create Pages – In addition to posting, I also create pages.  I’ll create a page for an anchor keyword that I’m wanting to promote.  Like “Make Money Online”.  That is a keyword that will be around for a long, long time.  I’ll use posts to touch on current trends, services, or marketing tools that are helpful in promoting my niche market.  It’s important to keep your main keywords on pages and not posts.

Quality, Quality, Quality – Guys, do not sucked into all the PLR content, article spinning, or even autoblogging software.   Although I have been an advocate of using spinning software in the past, the new Google Panda Algorithm doesn’t take kindly to these methods.  If you want to be an authority figure  for your niche market and have a high ranking Alexa score, then provide unique original content.

Backlinks -  Building quality backlinks is vital to achieving a high Alexa ranking.   The number of backlinks a website has, is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page. Besides SEO, the backlinks of a webpage indicate who is paying attention to that page. Having quality backlinks plays a big part in your Traffic, Viewers, and rankings.   It’s not necessarily the number of backlinks, but rather the quality.

3.  Be Committed & Disciplined – Blogging can be very prosperous, but also very overwhelming and frustrating.  It can cause you to want to quit, and unfortunately that’s what most people do.  They start out excited, and within 90 days they are done.  Set realistic short term and long term goals for yourself.  Be persistent, and don’t give up!  Surround yourself with positive influnces and stay inspired.  Be committed to provide fresh and unique content to your reader.  Find ways to seperate yourself from the competition.

Keyword Research – The Basics

Keyword marketing, man I wish had paid more attention to that when I first started out. It would have saved me a lot of headaches. Of course, if nobody tells you about something then how are you supposed to know? I mean nobody is born with Internet marketing knowledge, right? Well today I’m going to give you some helpful pointers to this mysterious aspect of online marketing, and yes there is an art to this. First of all, by this stage of the game you have picked a niche that you want to dominate in. Do not try and sell forty five different things at once. Learn how to market properly in one niche then move on to another, then another. This basic formula will take you far in this business. Once you have picked your niche, then you must do keyword research.

Now what does this mean? Well basically, it means finding highly looked for keywords that are not being used by other marketers in the same niche. This can be difficult and a bit time consuming, but in the end so worth it, and it can be done, its not impossible. Now you can use various keyword research tools to help you see what kind of traffic each keyword is getting. Also keep this one thing in mind as well, we want action or buyer oriented keywords. The words that people, who are looking to buy with credit card in hand, are typing in. I’ll use my old stand by example, golf. Say you own a golf club store and are looking to increase sales on your golf website. Well make sure you make it abundantly clear in your keyword research what you are selling. Also when picking your domain name, keyword research is absolutely vital. You would not want a domain name like Bob’s Golf Store, frankly its lame, and does nothing to increase your buyer traffic.

You would want something like Highqualitygolfclubs.com Something that people would type in who are were looking to buy what you sell. Make sure your site is littered with keywords that let the customer know, and search engines who rank you, know that you sell top notch clubs at a fantastic price. So when using keyword research only deal with phrases that have at least 10,000 or more global searches per month. No less. On the other end, do not try to rank for keywords that have over 100,000 searches. You would never be able to out bid those big time companies who spend, thousands even millions on advertising. In the end just try to find words that are slightly unique but are still words that buyers would type in.
